STUDIO PROCEDURES & GENERAL INFORMATION
STUDENT CHECK IN
All teachers will take attendance in class. This will avoid having absences improperly recorded since most students forget to check in at the desk. Monthly tuition and/or questions can be directed to Jeanette, our receptionist. If you would like to speak to your child's teacher, just tell the receptionist or write a note and the teacher will contact you as soon as possible. Class time is important and we want to keep interruptions to a minimum. ALSO: Make sure you pick up your child promptly. Many times at closing we have to wait and everyone is tired by then and ready to go home!
ATTENDANCE
We strongly encourage you to make every effort to see that your child does not miss class. For most students it is only once a week and regular attendance means so much to their dance education. If your child does miss class, we give them every opportunity possible to make up class time on another day. Just ask at the reception desk for the appropriate day and time that is best suited to their ability level. At the end of the year we do award perfect attendance certificates to those students who attend every one of their scheduled class times. This is an honor that few achieve, so make a commitment to you and your child to make class every week.
BEHAVIOR
Unruly behavior will not be tolerated. Dance is a physical activity that requires both discipline and good listening skills. If a child does not listen, it is very easy to injure themselves. Therefore, it is necessary for constant control in the classroom. If a teacher is having a problem with your child, you will be contacted and hopefully we can work together to straighten out the situation. Safety is number one and that is one of the reasons we limit class size, especially with the younger children.
SHOES
Shoe colors are as follows - please check with your child's teacher before you purchase them to make sure that you get the correct color for their class:
- TAP TAP SHOES - WHITE (YOUNGER STUDENTS) BLACK (BEGINNER IRISH)
- U-BUCKLE TAPS – TAN (INTERMEDIATE)
- BLACK LACE OXFORDS (ADVANCED & HOOFING)
- BALLET BLACK (YOUNGER STUDENTS) OR PINK SPLIT SOLE (ADVANCED STUDENTS)
- POINTE PINK (DON'T WEAR UNTIL CHECKED BY TEACHER – MUST FIT EXACTLY)
- JAZZ JAZZ OXFORDS – BLACK
- SLIP ON – BLACK WITH ELASTIC INSERTS (ADVANCED)
- HIP-HOP BLACK SPLIT-SOLE JAZZ SNEAKERS (HIP HOP ONLY)
- LYRICAL SUEDE LEATHER HALF SANDALS (YOUNGER STUDENTS) FOOT UNDEEZ (ADVANCED STUDENTS)
- IRISH IRISH JIG SHOES PLEXI GLASS TOE & HEEL - BLACK
Please note: students should put their shoes on after entering their designated classrooms. Also: children should not arrive at the studio wearing their dance shoes. Wearing them outdoors will damage them.
PUT YOUR CHILD'S NAME IN ALL THEIR SHOES!!!!!!
DANCE ATTIRE
PROPER DANCE ATTIRE IS REQUIRED TO BE WORN AT ALL TIMES IN CLASS. HAIR SHOULD BE PULLED BACK AWAY FROM THE FACE IN A PONY TAIL OR BUN. BALLET/LYRICAL CLASSES ATTIRE IS PREFERABLY BLACK LEOTARD, PINK TIGHTS AND BALLET SKIRT. (FOR ALL CLASSES 45 MINUTES OR LONGER) ALL 1 HOUR JAZZ CLASSES ARE TO WEAR BLACK JAZZ OR YOGA PANTS OVER LEOTARD. TEACHERS WILL GO OVER PROPER ATTIRE THE FIRST DAY OF CLASS.
PARKING
Parking lot is located at the rear of the Academy, as well as behind the post office across the street. A crosswalk is being installed by the Borough of Glassboro as a safety feature for our students & parents it will be located near the parking lot entrance for those who park across the street or behind the post office lot which is lighted. We also welcome drop off and pick up at our front doors which will be unlocked whenever Let's Dance has classes.
ON POINTE DANCE AND ACTIVE WEAR
A dance store is located on the studio premises for your convenience. Amanda Furfari is the proprietor of On Pointe. She offers one stop shopping for dance shoes, apparel, notions and gifts. Her store is situated next to our waiting room. Stock is arriving daily. All questions about merchandise and ordering should be directed to Amanda or her mother Terry. (881-7440)
CLOSED CIRCUIT TV
All of our classrooms have CLOSED CIRCUIT TV so you can watch your children from SPECIFIED TV'S located on every floor. The first floor waiting room TV will show classrooms 200 & 205, second floor classrooms 201 & 202, third floor classroom 305. There is a rear stair case that goes up to the second and third floors so you can quickly reach your child at any time.
BATHROOM REMINDER
Please have your children go to the bathroom before class. Especially with the little ones it becomes an epidemic when one goes all, others follow. The larger bathrooms are on the 1 st and 3 rd floors as well as the water fountains.
TUITION REMINDER
Dance tuition is due the first class of each month. If tuition is paid after the 15th a $10.00 late fee will be charged. We currently accept, checks, cash money orders and all credit cards . There is also a $25.00 fee for any bounced checks returned to us. If in the past you have given us more than 2 bounced checks, we will request payment in cash this year!
OUR TEACHERS
All of our teachers can be identified wearing studio uniforms. They will be wearing black tops embroidered with a Let's Dance logo in purple and teachers name with various types of dance pants. If you need assistance please feel free to ask them for help.
We, along with our teachers Abbie, Alicia,Colleen, Jayme, Jenn, Juliann, Kristen, Lindsay, Michele, Nicole, Noelle and Rhonda are looking forward to working with you and your children. We hope this year will be not only an educational experience but also an opportunity for your children to have fun and build happy memories.

REMEMBER: Dance is one of the best bargains around. Where else could you purchase a gift for your child that he or she will never lose and that will enhance every movement as well as give them self- confidence and a self-image that will prepare them for life after childhood.
